Disinfection drive-thru for ride share vehicles

A drive-thru with purpose.

A fleet of 250 vehicles with a local ride share service were deep cleaned and disinfected at a unique sanitizing station in Niagara Falls Wednesday.

Walid Al Hilaly, founder and chief executive officer of Zoom Zoom, said the goal of the event was to “ensure the highest level of safety in rides.”

“The safety and well-being of our community is our top priority,” he said. “We are doing this to make life easier and help keep our region moving forward safely.”

The event was held at Spark Niagara, a startup business incubator downtown.

Together with Niagara Falls Ryerson Innovation Hub, it launched a Safe Site Global consortium in December 2020 featuring companies offering services that can help businesses provide a cohesive health-and-safety package during and after the pandemic.

Disinfection was provided by Steri-Plus, a sister company of SteriPro, which is a graduate of the hub and consortium member.
